External relations
Students studying Finance at the University of Melbourne, Australia benefit from the links between the Department and the practical world of finance. Members of the Department have consulted to both the private and public sectors and presented short courses for practitioners.
The Department hosts a large number of international visiting academics from all over the world.
In 2005, Finance hosted 20 Research Seminars, presented by academics from overseas and Australian institutions.
In 2005 the Melbourne Centre for Financial Studies (MCFS) was established with support from The University of Melbourne, RMIT University, Monash University and FINSIA. The centre aims to develop a comprehensive finance academic-research program.
In addition to Research Seminars, the Department offers Professional Seminars by Industry Practitioners.
