Various accreditations, memberships and subject exemptions are available for finance students, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
CFA Program Partnership
The University of Melbourne has become a CFA Program Partner of CFA Institute, the global association for investment professionals that awards the prestigious CFA® designation. The partnering programs include the university’s Master of Finance and Bachelor of Commerce (Major in Finance).
The partnership means that the Master program covers 70 percent of all three levels of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge™ (CBOK) topics, and the Bachelor program covers 70 percent of the Level I CBOK topics. Both programs cover the CFA Institute ethical and professional standards, and other CFA Program Partner requirements.
Finance and Treasury Association (FTA)
Professional accreditation is available for postgraduate students.
The Master of Applied Finance meets the academic requirements to upgrade membership to Certified Finance Treasury Professional status.
CPA Australia
CPA program graduates who enrol in the Postgraduate Diploma in Finance or the Master of Management (Finance) can receive credit for Accounting for Decision Making or Finanical Statement Analysis.
