Biography
André Gygax is a tenured faculty member at the University of Melbourne. Previously, he worked for the University of Colorado and the University of Technology in Sydney and a number of professional firms. His research interests are in the areas of corporate finance, financial markets, and social network analysis. In 1997, under the supervision of Prof. Jones from M.I.T., he developed a computer model to review the financial, legal and technical feasibility of an electronic funds ATM/Point-of-Sale network for Sarajevo. The study was supported by a large grant from the United States Trade and Development Agency in Washington D.C. (see USTDA research study #97744). In 1999, the findings of this study led to the establishment of the first national EFT/POS and credit card processing center (Bamcard d.o.o.) in Bosnia & Herzegovina (BiH) and VISA processing certification was subsequently accomplished. Presently he is on sabbatical.

- Honors Supervision: I prefer to supervise topics that relate to my own general research interests. Make sure that you contact me early. Write down your research proposal (500-1,000 words). Empirical studies require substantial amount of time for data collection and analysis. You should not start later than June or July of the year you intend to submit your report.
